Queen Victoria's passion for nudity.

It is odd that ideas persist for a long time without any evidence to support them.
A visit to Queen Victoria's home on the Isle of Wight some time ago was a real eye-opener. I had fallen for the common idea that "Victorian" was synonymous with prudish but nothing could be further from the truth with respect to Victoria. Room after room showed the most beautiful, sensuous nudes, especially the sculptures. It seems she was not of the prudish type at all.
An exhibition to be shown in London from 19th March to 31st October 2010 shows the same thing. Entitled Victoria & Albert: Art & Love, "...reveals her as a passionate and open-minded young woman."
The Daily Telegraph website has a page headed "Queen Victoria's passion for nudity goes on display in new art exhibition"
Osborne House on the Isle of Wight is open to visitors. http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/server/show/nav.1082
